Dear all,
IRTA (Barcelona, Spain) is currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated
PhD candidate to join the Animal Breeding and Genetics Program, focusing on
the field of animal genomics and immunogenetics in pigs.
The PhD student will conduct their PhD thesis within the framework of the
METAPIGSEL project, which aims to explore the genetic determinism of
immunometabolism and energy homeostasis in pigs. The objective is to select
and validate the most informative genetic variants, molecular biomarkers, and
immunity traits that contribute to the phenotypic diversity of both
immunocompetence and production traits. The ultimate goal is to develop
methodologies and tools that enable the implementation of breeding programs
for swine health.
