The current total number of QTL in the database: 24,748 [Breakdown by species -- Cattle: 9,180; Chicken: 4,282; Pig: 10,497; Sheep: 789; Rainbow trout: 127] (New additions less obsolete ones: Cattle: 875; Chicken: 363; Pig: 635; Sheep: 0; Rainbow trout: 0 -- Net increase: 1,873).
Functions: (1) Pleiotropic QTL/association data are now included for curation. (2) Sheep QTL/association data are mapped to the sheep genome. (3) The Animal QTLdb has been improved to allow users to analyze QTL by their trait types. See QTLdb FAQ items for details. (4) A "grand search" tool is made available to simplify the database-wide search. (5) The map viewer has been improved to allow user defined QTL to be viewed. (6) Search for Vertebrate Trait (VT) Ontology, Product Trait (PT) Ontology, and Clinical Measurement Ontology (CMO) terms within the Animal QTLdb is made possible.
