Dear Juha,

in my experience the classical guanidine-thyocianate metod is the best to
extract RNA from porcine adipose tissue. The quality of the RNA extracted is
suitable for RNA-seq but is not excellent. We performed RNA-seq experiments
to analyze both mRNAs and miRNAs.

Best regards,

Paolo Zambonelli

Dear AnGenMap members,

Your experiences in RNA extraction from adipose tissues of various domestic
animal species are needed, which RNA extraction protocol works best. Some
commercial kit? Or perhaps you have developed your own succesful protocol.
Are there differences between species and some method works well in cattle
and less optimally e.g. in horse or vice versa? Our aim is to sequence both
mRNA and miRNA. Thank you for your comments and help!
