QTL Experiment in Brief |
Animals: | Ewes (n = 326) from a primary backcross family of a single F1 sire derived from an Awassi fat-tail x Merino superfine and medium cross population. |
Breeds associated:
n/a
|
Design: | Ewes were initially genotyped using 206 microsatellite markers and QTL were indicated on OAR 3 and 20. Additional markers in these OAR regions were then genotyped. |
Analysis: | The Wood (1967) model was used for lactation curve modelling. Results were considered significant when LOD scores from QTL-MLE were >2 and p<0.05. |
Software: | Carthagene (to estimate marker order and map distance); QTL-MLE |
