Description:Cross between Brahman and Hereford cattle. True Brafords are 3/8 Brahman and 5/8 Hereford; 1/2 Brahman and 1/2 Hereford crosses are known as F1 Brafords. Pure lines of the breed originated in Australia and the USA in the 1940s (LBO:0000025 and LBO:0000937, respectively).
Exterior:Typically red with white underbelly, head and feet
Production:Primarily used for beef; resistant to heat and insets
