Description:The Sushan pig is a developed Chinese breed (2003-2018), which contains 25% genetic component of Chinese Taihu pigs, 25% of Danish Landrace and 50% of British Yorkshire blood. The breed was recognized by National Livestock Genetic Resource Commission of China in 2018.
Exterior:Body length: 156.5cm (boars); 153.1cm (sows). Weight: 225.3kg (boars); 190.4kg (sows).
Production:Average total number born (TNB) of first-parity sows (422 litters) is 11.19±1.49, number born alive (NBA) is 10.64±1.38. Average TNB of more than third-parity sows (976 litters) is 13.55±1.48, NBA is 13.03±1.40.​ Average daily gain is 786 g at the period of 30-90 kg, feed weight ratio is 2.89 at this period, average slaughter rate is 73.6% when swine weight reaches 100 kg, average backfat thickness is 27.6 mm, back legs proportion is 29.4%, each part of carcass ratio is as follows: lean meat 59.4%, fat 21.7%, skin 8.1%, bone 10.9% and intramuscular fat content 2.51%.
